Keira Knightley on the Town and Looking Gorgoeus

Keira Knightley was spotted (and thankfully photographed!) in London’s West End Tuesday night, February 23.

She looked fresh-faced and gorgeous as always in a killer coat and ridiculously beautiful scarf.

Sadly, Johnny Depp recently confirmed what we pretty much already knew: Keira won’t be returning for the next Pirates move.

Johnny Depp told press that neither Keira Knightley nor Orlando Bloom will be on board for the highly anticipated POTC 4. “We’re coming at it from a different angle at this point, Rob Marshall and [a] totally new take, it’s a new story. I don’t think we’d ever throw too much Jack Sparrow in there. There will be a little bit of everybody.

Will Last Night Ever Make it to the Screen?

The Walt Disney Company, which bought Miramax from the Weinstein brothers in 2005, has closed down the studio after 30 years in business.

Miramax was founded by brothers Bob and Harvey Weinstein back in 1979. It found success as an independent distribution and production outfit, before becoming part of the Disney empire in 1993. The company had huge success with hits such as Clerks and sex, lies and videotape, helped launch the outstanding career of Quentin Tarantino, and even earned Oscars with the movies such as The English Patient and Shakespeare in Love. The Weinstein brothers – who named the company after their parents Max and Miriam – quit to form the Weinstein Company in 2005.

The six Miramax pictures that are currently awaiting distribution – including Last Night, starring Keira Knightley – now face an uncertain future.

Sam Worthington, Evan Mendes, and Keira Knightley: In One Film!

Gorgeous and red hot actor Sam Worthington (Avatar) was pleasantly surprised when he learned that Keira Knightley and Eva Mendes were his co-stars in the upcoming film Last Night.

Sam said he felt like he’d hit the jackpot when he was told he’d be sharing the screen with the two Hollywood beauties. His friends were so excited that they rushed to visit him in New York to meet the female stars while he filmed the movie!

“I did the film as a favour to the director and then she said, ‘I have Keira Knightley and Eva Mendes too.’ So I thought, ‘Let’s go to the lottery!’ Suddenly all my mates, who weren’t that bothered before, wanted to come out to New York and hang out with Keira and Eva. Strange that,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

What a ridiculously gorgeous film Last Night is going to be with these three in it!

Keira Knightley and Others Pull Out of My Fair Lady

Okay, this is a total bummer.

Keira Knightley will not be playing the role of Eliza Doolittle in the movie adaptation of My Fair Lady, according to UK reports.

Knightley had been in talks with the producers of the movie about taking on the role but reportedly pulled out as she thought that it was taking too long to start production. Directors such as Joe Wright and Danny Boyle had been linked with the movie but have also pulled out.

Someone up high apparently dropped the ball.  I was really looking forward to Keira as Eliza!

Keira Knightley Movie News: The Talking Cure

Keira Knightley and Christoph Waltz are set to star in David Cronenberg’s film adaptation of 2002 play The Talking Cure.

Fresh from his success in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, Waltz will reportedly play Sigmund Freud himself, while Knightley takes the role of one of his patients.

No word yet on who’ll play Jung, but fans are hoping for Ralph Fiennes.

Keira Knightley, as you know, won the role of Eliza Doolittle in a new film adaptation of “My Fair Lady.”

Joe Wright will direct the much-anticipated movie. Wright worked with Keira in “Pride & Prejudice” and “Atonement.” He’s obviously one of the best directors in the business.

Academy Award-winner Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility) is writing the screenplay.

This is really exciting, too: Daniel Craig is now being mentioned as a possibility to play Professor Henry Higgins! Daniel Craig and Keira Knightley on screen at the same time… makes my knees weak!

Keira Knightley is Officially Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady

Keira KnightleyThe Telegraph out of UK is reporting that Keira Knightley was up against Scarlett Johansson for the role of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and had now officially won the part.

They’re also reporting that Joe Wright, who worked with Knightley on ATONEMENT, will step in to direct the film after his upcoming film, INDIAN SUMMER, was put on hold by Universal.

My Fair Lady is based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and features a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The original Broadway production opened on March 15, 1956, ran for over six years and won nine Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical. The score contains such Broadway classics as “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “On the Street Where You Live,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?” and “Get Me to the Church on Time.”

The musical was adapted for the screen in 1963, directed by George Cukor, and cast the wonderfu and beautiful Audrey Hepburn as Eliza and the equally wonderful and beautiful Rex Harrison as Higgins! My Fair Lady won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor.

Keira Knightley Being Considered for Dusty Springfield

Keira Knightley, Nicole Kidman and even Amy Winehouse are being considered to play Dusty Springfield in a new movie. Dusty Springfield was a very, very popular singer in the 60’s with hits I Only Want To Be With You, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, and Son of a Preacher Man.

The £5million film, likely to be called Dusty, could begin filming late next year.

Terence Doyle, editor of British film magazine, says: “Playing Dusty would be a dream role and there is sure to be fierce competition to land the part.”

Voted the Top British Female Artist in 1964, 1965, and 1968, Dusty Springfield had a worldwide hit with Son of a Preacher Man. It’s, unquestionably, one of the best songs ever.

Her album Dusty In Memphis has been voted one of the greatest 100 pop records of all time.

A movie insider said the film would “almost certainly” explore the “complicated private life” of the gay singer who died from breast cancer in 1999. She was only 59 when she died.

They are forever overlooking the presence of their frustrated fairy godmother (Keira) as they carry on with their clockwork routine.
